Taking alook back at the beginning of WE Citizens
It was roughly seven years ago when founder of, Mr. Parag Mate developed a novel idea in his mind. The idea was followed by a lot of questions too. “As an ordinary citizen, do we really have a society that reflects its citizens,” asked his mind.
Building a society looked like the solution. But how? Leveraging the most universal and user-friendly smartphone, using a mobile app that does all the job for us. The WE Citizens application allows us to be a part of the system itself to help it address the day-to-day civic problems at just a click. It allows us to team up and collectively build a better place as a society. Once discussed with friends in various strata’s of society, the reaction was only one ‘brilliant idea!

Milestones in the journey of We Citizens
Now that the idea has come into reality, it becomes imperative to look back at how we have evolved as a team over the time and how a single noble thought bloomed through a hundred different, conscious minds.
Development of WE logo and application
The application development too started soon after the logo was finalised. After multiple designs and thoughts around them, the most user-friendly application was finalised and launched. Team WE is now up and running.
Naming ourselves as a brand
A lot of thought process went into creation of the name of the organisation – WE Citizens, which implies a thought of keeping WE over I, and going beyond MY to say OUR if we wish to have an ideal society to live in.
Team building and discussions
Eventually, discussions began around the execution, team formation, volunteering tasks, key project areas, contact building, awareness campaign designing, plans of action and a lot more.
Brain storming sessions around the idea
Mr. Parag Mate’s thought lead to a lot of brain storming sessions with the various people at different levels, with years of experiences, at diverse designations and from different walks of life.
